Matthew Duvall (Matt) is the Director of E. Cohen’s Not-For-Profit Services Group. He has over sixteen years of experience providing auditing, accounting, tax and consulting services to a broad range of clients in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area, and specializes in not-for-profit accounting.
Matt’s expertise with not-for-profit organizations includes financial audits, reviews, and compilations; compliance audits under OMB Uniform Guidance for single audits; internal control evaluations; and providing assurance and tax services to trade associations, membership organizations, charities, and religious organizations. He is responsible for researching and implementing new accounting standards which impact not-for-profit organizations.
Matt is also a contributor to the Nonprofit Accounting Basics website run by the Greater Washington Society of CPAs Educational Foundation.
Matt received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Maryland at College Park and his Master of Accounting and Information Technology from the University of Maryland University College.
Matt is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the AICPA Not-For-Profit Section, the Maryland Association of CPAs and the Virginia Society for CPAs. He is a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and the Finance and Administration Roundtable (FAR). He is also a contributor to the Nonprofit Accounting Basics website run by the Greater Washington Society of CPAs Educational Foundation.
Matt was honored as one of “Howard County’s 39 Finest Under 39” as part of the class of 2013.
