Mary Ann Dougherty, CPA

Tax Senior Manager

Mary Ann Dougherty is a Senior Manager in E. Cohen’s Tax Services Group. She has more than 25 years of public accounting experience, providing taxation and accounting services to individuals and small to mid-size businesses, and income tax guidance for corporate, pass-through, individual, estate, and trust tax issues.

Prior to joining the firm, Mary Ann worked as a Manager at a full-service CPA firm handling individual and business tax and accounting needs, including assisting with implementing estate related planning and options for high-net-worth clients. She also has experience coordinating accounting, tax, and financial services for various clients, researching and planning for business and family groups, and reviewing complex individual, fiduciary, partnership, and corporate tax returns.

Mary Ann was named one of Washington, DC’s Best Financial Advisers Tax Accountants by the Washingtonian in 2019, 2021, and 2022. She is proficient in the use of tax and accounting software, including CCH Document, Engagement, ProSystem, CCH Access Tax, and XCM.

She received a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia, and a Master’s degree in Taxation from American University in Washington, D.C. She is a licensed CPA in the State of Virginia.

Mary Ann is a member of the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA), American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and the AICPA Tax Section.
