Kimberly (Kim) Hodor Maxwell is a Principal at E. Cohen. She has been with the firm for over 20 years and has more than 25 years of experience providing auditing, accounting, tax, and consulting services to a broad range of clients in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area.
Kim has significant audit experience pertaining to compliance and internal control analysis, accounting policy and procedures, design and integration of accounting systems, and governmental audits under OMB’s Uniform Guidance. She has an in-depth knowledge of generally-accepted auditing standards as well as single audit compliance.
As part of her professional consulting experience, Kim works with businesses and nonprofit entities to prepare budgets, cash flow forecasts, and business plans. She works with organizations to customize reports based on management’s needs and reviews their internal controls to implement procedures to safeguard assets. This work is integrated with the tax planning for the entity and owners. She has also prepared business valuations for the gifting of stock certificates and various mergers and acquisitions.
Kim was named one of the Washington, D.C. region’s top business executives in the SmartCEO Magazine SmartCPA Readers’ Choice section. She was recognized for her outstanding technical insight, guidance and skill in strengthening the financial management systems of businesses and nonprofit entities, advising on financial decisions pertaining to internal control systems and business forecasting.
She is a member of the American Association of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA).
