Donald (Don) Keninitz, CPA is a Principal at E. Cohen. He has over 40 years of experience in accounting, auditing, and consulting, with a focus on government contractors and technology companies.
Prior to joining the firm, Don developed and managed the government contract accounting and consulting practice of Friedman & Fuller, P.C. where he was a partner for 10 years. He also spent 12 years as a partner in the government contracting and technology practice at McGladrey, LLP, the nation’s fifth largest CPA firm. He later served as CFO and COO for two privately-held manufacturing companies and CFO of an international transportation services firm.
He has written numerous articles and has been a frequent seminar instructor, covering a wide range of topics relating to government contracting, management, and accounting. He is also the author of The Government Contractor’s Glossary.
Don graduated from George Mason University in 1979 with a B.S. in Business Administration. In 1981, he passed the Uniform CPA Examination, finishing in the top 100 in the U.S. and receiving an Elijah Watt Sells Award for his outstanding performance on the exam. He has also passed the Certified Business Appraiser (CBA) Examination administered by the Institute of Business Appraisers.
