Claudia Hernandez-Fujigaki is a Manager in E. Cohen’s Outsourced Accounting Services Group and has over 15 years of accounting experience. She is responsible for developing lower-level staff and providing accurate and timely accounting services to the Outsourcing Services Group.
Prior to joining the firm, Claudia worked as the Director of Accounting and Human Resources at a local nonprofit organization. While there, she directed the day-to-day business operations including accounts payable, billing, collections, cash flow, financial reporting, budgeting and financial forecast; led the implementation of financial applications to facilitate effective virtual operations at all levels; collaborated with members of the management team on financial and operational strategic decision making; managed annual audits; revised 990 annual returns; and oversaw the compliance and implementation of FASB’s applicable standards. Claudia also served as a liaison with the Audit and Investment and Finance Committees and reported financial performance to the board, managed contracts and relations with customers and vendors, managed Human Resources including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, employees’ benefits management and payroll, lead the implementation of ADP Workforce Now, and collaborated with the IT Manager to minimize risk and implement staff email security training
Claudia is a member of the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA), the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Greater Washington Society of CPAs (GWSCPA), the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM), and the Institute of Management Accountants.
Claudia is proficient in the Microsoft Suite, QuickBooks Online, Enterprise and Desktop, MAS90, Intact, Abila/Net Forum, Expensify, Divvy Expense Management, Bill.com, Impak, ADP Run, ADP Workforce Now, Paychex, and Payment Management System.
Claudia graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the Universidad Autonoma de San Luis Potosi in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. She also serves as an Interpreter for the Pro Bono Resource Center of Maryland and volunteers at the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society.
